子どもはエキナセアを使用しないよう勧告（英医薬品庁）

　風邪の予防や免疫力のアップなどの目的で日本でも広く使われているエキナセアですが、20日、MHRA（英医薬品庁）は、12歳未満の子どもにエキナセアを含むハーブ製品を使用しないよう親や保護者に勧告しています。（英国内の製品はラベルが変更となる）

　今回の勧告は、子どもについては経口エキナセア製品の有用性が不確かであること、発疹や口や舌の腫れなどといったアナフィラキシー反応の報告があったためです。（アトピーや喘息がある人は特に注意が必要らしい）

　今回の勧告は、 the European Herbal Medicinal Products Committee (HMPC) と the UK Herbal Medicines Advisory Committee (HMAC) の助言を受け、予防措置として行われるもので、12歳以上の子どもや成人については引き続き使用できるとしています。
